AGGA QLD Awards 2018
Three G. James glazing apprentices received awards at the AGGA QLD Awards event held in August. Reece Evans from Woodridge branch was awarded ‘Queensland Apprentice of the Year’, Joshua Hawes from Maroochydore branch was awarded ‘2nd runner-up QLD Apprentice of the Year’ and Lachlan Campbell from Narangba branch received the ‘QLD Commercial Fabrication Apprentice of the Year.' All apprentices were exceptional ambassadors on the night which was highlighted through their acceptance speeches.
2018 Graduates – Certificate IV in Leadership & Management
Congratulations to the Newcastle and Taree employees who recently completed a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. The Graduation involved a final presentation that consolidated participant learnings from the 12 units of competency achieved throughout the program.

This program is designed to develop employees who feel strongly connected to our values and objectives whilst being mentored and trained by some of G James best talent.
There are minimum entry level requirements that need to be considered before making your application to be a G James apprentice. You must:
be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (New Zealand Citizens with a minimum of 6 months residency in Australia)
be at least 15 years of age or older at time of employment;
have completed a minimum of Year 10 or equivalent
proven attendance record (recent school or employment history)
passion to master a trade and motivation to succeed
the ability to work as part of a team
pass a pre-employment medical examination.

If you have previous work experience in a manufacturing environment or completed a pre-apprenticeship program, you will have a strong application to assist in progressing through our selection criteria.
G. James has been an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO Number:1647) for more than 20 years. In that time, we’ve built a strong network of experienced trainers that share a vision to deliver relevant, quality and compliance based training predominately to our employees. Key to our success, has been understanding and tailoring delivery to accommodate everyone’s training journey.
As a pre-qualified supplier under the user choice program (Certificate III in glass and glazing), our apprentices are being trained to meet the growing demands of the industry. a full AQF and User Choice Audit Report from 2012 (AQTF).
